The sand in beautiful San Diego will come alive this summer! Over 300 tons of sand will be carved and molded into beautiful sculptures during the annual U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge and 3D Art Exposition. World Master Sand Sculptors come from Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada, Latvia and Singapore, to challenge the best in the U.S. The four-day event will feature live entertainment, food trucks, 3-dimensional art and fun rides and activities for kids.

The U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge and 3D Art Exposition is open to the public for 4 full days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 29 August – 1 September 2014, from 9am until 7pm daily.  But wait, there’s more:  special twilight hours from 7 until 10pm on Saturday night!   The sculptures look unbelievable at night.  And there’s special live entertainment at both ends of the pier.

Many of the world’s best Master sculptors are associated with and compete in the U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge, where those from the rest of the world (Singapore, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Latvia and Canada) compete with those from the U.S. (Seattle, San Francisco, Atlantic City and Key West) to see who wins the Grand Prize.
