  • Vattikuti Global Robotics 2015 Conference on Robotic Surgeries

    bariatric2New Delhi : Vattikuti Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to making robotic surgery and other high-tech minimally invasive surgery cost effective and available to underprivileged communities, recently inaugurated “Vattikuti Global Robotics 2015” three-day multispecialty Robotic Surgery Conference (VGR) in New Delhi in the presence of chief guest Mr. Lov Verma – Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

    Vattikuti Global Robotics 2015 focused on robotic surgery and other cutting edge, minimally invasive surgical techniques. Over the course of three days, Vattikuti Foundation and its partner hospitals look forward to provide a comprehensive and exciting programme dedicated to the work of robotic surgeons in various specialties. The conference covered areas like Live Surgeries Global Faculty Breakout sessions per specialty for focused group presentations, discussions and networking opportunities with robotic surgeons from all over India.

    Dr Mahendra Bhandari, CEO, Vattikuti Foundation said, “Robotic surgery has various advantages over the conventional methods of surgery greater surgical precision, increased range of motion, improved dexterity, enhanced visualization and improved access for the surgeon. Vattikuti Foundation is ushering in a new wave of innovation, analytics and cost savings in the field of surgical science. It was imperative that we convene the early adopters of robotic surgery at one event to help educate the industry on this ground-breaking new trend.”

    The highlights of the conference included a common session on the first day from the stalwarts in robotic surgery from across the world, involving general sessions across all specialties. Hospital managers will also get tips on how to make the robotic surgical discipline a center of excellence & cost effective from experts in the field.

    VGR 2015 had a dedicated time for discussions on various aspects of different surgical techniques. Days 2 and 3 of VGR 2015 are dedicated to real examples of robotic surgery complications as encountered in different surgical specialties. The session was moderated by a panel of experts who shared their experience and provided tips for prevention and timely management of such complications with live examples. The panel included faculty from both India and abroad.

    The foundation also unveiled 25 high volume, truly multidisciplinary programs with close to 150 skilled surgeons contributing to approximately 3,000 procedures per year, the foundation will continue its commitment of being a leading partner in the growth of robotic and other minimally invasive surgical techniques throughout India and the world.

    According to Raj Vattikuti, founder, Vattikuti Foundation, “Surgical robots are gradually making inroads into the Indian operation theatre. Vattikuti Foundation is committed to bring advance surgical technology to the common man. The Foundation is well on the way to achieving its target of 300 fully trained robotic surgeons.
