  • World Social Work Day’ celebrated at RGU and other events

     The Department of Social Work organized an enriching session in observance of World Social Work Day, themed “Buen Vivir: Shared Future for Transformative Change.” Esteemed resource persons from the communities graced the occasion, sharing invaluable insights and experiences.

    Mr. Kestoram Rongpi (President, Taluk Committee) from Deuchutal community,Mrs. Bhadreswari Das and Mr. Golap Das (Mahila Samiti President and Headman) from Tetelia community,Mrs. Bulbuli Rongsong (Headwoman) from Lokhra community,Mrs. Utpala Changkakoti and Ms. Akansha Dubey (Principal) from Akshar Forum, Pamohi,Ms. Devipriya Phukan (Psychologist, Rehabilitation Centre) Pamohi community. Mr. Bikash Chetri (Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work) led a panel discussion, where resource persons shared their impactful journeys as “change makers” in their communities. Senior faculty members and Students attended the insightful session. The resource persons emphasized their areas of work, including sustainable development, leadership and personality building among children, and tackling substance abuse issues. They highlighted challenges such as substance abuse and low youth participation, seeking suggestions from students on community engagement strategies.

    On the other hand, Day 2 of Cultural Week at Royal Global University was filled with energy and talent as students showcased their skills in a variety of captivating competitions. From mesmerizing dance performances to engaging mono acts, expressive mime acts, and soulful Western vocal renditions, the day was a celebration of creativity and expression.
