The recognition comes as part of the World Stroke Organization’s (WSO) ongoing collaboration with the Angels Initiative, aimed at advancing global stroke treatment and care. The WSO Angels Awards, a vital component of this collaboration, applaud hospitals showcasing remarkable dedication to quality stroke care.

As stroke stands as the second leading cause of global death and disability, WSO remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring worldwide access to optimized stroke care for improved survival and recovery. Collaborating with the ANGELS Initiative, WSO endeavors to enhance the capacity of stroke-ready hospitals and elevate the quality of treatment in existing stroke centers.

The WSO Angels Awards program aims to bolster global stroke care by offering practical support through the WSO Quality Stroke Care Guideline. Recognition of best practices is facilitated through the SITS-QR and RES-Q registries, acknowledging hospitals with a distinct commitment to quality stroke care. Furthermore, the program fosters a platform for professionals and institutions in the Angels community to share insights, facilitating the implementation and acceleration of improvements in stroke care.
