  • 30 young students of Delhi NCR perform complete Margam of Bharatnatyam at Ayappa Temple at RK Puram, New Delhi

    2 picture of performanceKeeping alive the rich Indian dance traditions, 30 students of Nritya Abhinaya, all shishyas of Guru  Smt Usha Rao, performed the complete Margam of Bharat Natyam at Ayyappa Temple, Sec tor 2, RK Puram, New Delhi on Saturday, 22nd November 2014. The dance programme included Ganesh Vandana, Pushpanjali, Mallari, Allarippu, Varnam, Padamsand Thillana.

    Guru Usha Rao is a renowned exponent of Bharat Naytam, who had her training in the “Pandanallur Style” under the tutelage of various gurus. In 1982, Smt Rao started her own Dance Academy “Nritya Abhinaya” which teaches young students the intricate and beautiful dance form.In 2006 and 2014, Guru Usha Rao was bestowed with the National Award for excellence in Bharat Natyam. Today “Nritya Abhinaya” spans across many centres in New Delhi with hundreds of students.
