    New Delhi : Indian Electronic Industry is making all out efforts to the “Digital India” and “Make in India campaigns” announced by Government of India. The Government is Keen to make India self reliant in electronics and make the country a global leader in Electronics Hardware. The intention is to replicate India’s success in Software.

    The 5th EFY Expo, an international exhibition organized by EFY Group and ELCINA Electronic Industries Association of India, began today at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. With high expectations from the impending Union Budget there is much hope among the participants. The objective of this exhibition is to provide a domestic platform to all stakeholders of electronic industry, local and global to showcase their capabilities in terms of manufacturing, design and innovation. The event is supported by the Department of Electronics & IT, (DeitY) Government of India and will host a CEO Summit on 27th February.

    All efforts are under way at the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Govt. of India and industry bodies such as ELCINA to ramp up initiatives to implement the National Policy for Electronics 2012. Its various schemes such as M-SIPS, EMC, PMA, EDF, Semi-conductor Fabs, Skill Development and R&D / Innovation Fund will bring huge benefits to the industry and the nation.

    “While Government is making all out efforts to promote ESDM Sector and Electronics Manufacturing, the challenge it faces is streamlining the Tax System, removing inverted duties and financial as well as logistical disabilities. Presently more than 70% of the national demand for electronics products and components is met by imports which is estimated at over US$ 90 Billion and projected to grow to US$ 400 Billion by 2020, told, Mr Rajoo Goel

    The CEO summit scheduled on 27th February will be witness participation by Secretary, Deity, Shri R S Sharma, Ambassador of Taiwan, Mr. Chuang Kwang Tien as well as top industry experts. The government and Industry Leaders will share their views about the present status of ESDM Industry in India, the extent to which we have achieved success through new initiatives and policies such as the National Policy of Electronics and what more needs to be done.

    During the CEO Summit, ELCINA will announce the signing of a Manufacturing License between Sahasra Electronics, a diversified manufacturer of PCBs, LED Products and EMS service provider and Infomaxx, a reputed Taiwanese company of the MCIX Group which boasts of turnover of US$ 5 Billion. MCIX is a leader in semiconductor production and technology. This is a significant breakthrough in our efforts to bring the Taiwanese and Indian electronics industries closer together and take our partnership to new heights.
