    Uttarakhand: In Uttarakhand Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his public address at Pithoragarh stated that he wanted to see a developed Uttarakhand like Chattisgarh and Jharkhand which were formed together.

    Chief Minister Harish Rawat in his address stated that mere assurances do not bring fruitful result, but the work has to be done at the ground level for achieving development.

    Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his public meetings at Srinagar Garhwal and Pithoragarh stated that OROP scheme for army personnel was immediately implemented after his government came to power, whereas the Congress had evaded it for nearly 40 years.

    Taking a dig at the Chief Minister’s contesting election from two plain district seats; the Prime Minister stated that when CM himself has migrated from the hills, so how will he prevent migration? Shri Modi said that his fight against corruption and black money will continue uninterrupted.

    On the other hand Chief Minister Rawat in his election meeting at Almora said that, no development takes place by mere announcements. He said that his Government has done ground level work in the field of health, education and self- employment.

    He stated that his government has an employment road-map which will provide employment to everyone by 2020. In addition, the star campaigners of BJP the Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, Smiriti Irani, MPs Hema Malini, Yogi Aditya Nath and Manoj Tiwari addressed several public meetings at different places.

    Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi conducted road shows at Bhagwanpur, Roorkee, Manglore, Jawalapur, Piran Kaliyar and Haridwar Assembly seats of district Haridwar. The former Union Minister, Salman Khurshid of the Congress party had a press meet in Dehradun.
