  • A.M. Best Assigns Ratings to Investors Trust Assurance SPC

    Published on October 13, 2010

Cayman Islands  :  Investors Trust Assurance SPC (“ITA”) has announced that A.M. Best Co. has assigned it a financial strength rating of B++ (Good) and issuer credit rating of “bbb+” with the assigned outlook being stable.

According to A.M. Best, the ratings of ITA consider its profitable operations and strong risk-based capitalization measures. ITA has relatively limited insurance risks because the company’s policies carry a limited death benefit. The ratings also acknowledge ITA’s broad network of independent financial advisors in Latin America and Asia Pacific, its eight-year operating history since inception, management’s prior history of relevant investment marketing experience and increases in new sales for the current year driven by a new product offering.

“This A.M. Best rating reaffirms the strength of our product structure and services,” said ITA Director William Zelaya. “Emerging market investors have access to name brand investment products in stable currencies and a means to build up wealth for retirement or a child’s college education.”

According to Zelaya, ITA recently expanded its product offerings to include a fixed income portfolio that became available in 2010.

ITA Director Steve Christopher said ITA mirrors his focus on the importance of optimizing operational and distribution platforms capable of delivering sustainable sales and profitability goals. Mr. Christopher is a recognized leader in the financial services industry known for guiding multiple corporations through highly complex consolidations, integrations, merger activities and new company launches.

Mr. Christopher also said, “ITA’s focus on unit-linked insurance policies to middle class consumers through a distribution network of independent financial advisors in Latin America and Asia Pacific is a solid growth platform for the company.”
