Los Angeles :  Millions of Americans can benefit from having some short term care insurance coverage declares a national industry leader and director of the national long term care insurance trade association.

“Not everyone can qualify for or afford long term care insurance protection and quite frankly not everyone will face a situation that requires lengthy care,” explains Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI). The Association announced a national initiative to create heightened awareness for the benefit of owning some short term care protection.

“We’ve seen increasing interest among both consumers as well as insurance professionals yet there is no single entity focused on providing the depth of relevant and current information,” Slome notes. “Insurance can be one of the more confusing topics for consumers and our goal is to make it easy for those who want to learn more about the topic on their own.”

The initial step being undertaken will be the creation of an informational website where consumers can go to learn, ask questions and ultimately connect with a knowledgeable specialist.

The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance is the national organization created in 1998. AALTCI advocates and educates both consumers and insurance professionals, conducting research that is made available online and published in the organization’s LTC Sourcebook.
