India: Agrizy, a leading agfood tech platform, has announced remarkable growth in FY22-23 since receiving funding in March 2022. The company has charted a growth of 35X, having brought major clients such as Reliance, Haldiram’s, Adani Wilmar, and Godrej Agrovet on its agfood tech platform. Starting as a bootstrapped firm, Agrizy has since expanded rapidly with over 1,000 buyers and suppliers empanelling on its platform, which has allowed the company to maintain a steady flow of business as clients can source their products directly from the platform.

Agrizy has also expanded its export business and is now capable of meeting large demands of multiple buyers in international markets. Currently, the company exports to South Asia and Gulf countries and has recently begun shipping to European countries. The company has also shown interest in expanding to new markets in the long-term.

India is in the list of top 5 producers for most agri-products but lags behind in exports due to a limited proportion of processed products in the overall agri-food basket. The country exports raw agri-products with limited value addition. In some cases, India exports raw agri-products to other countries which then do value-added processing and export these products back to India and other countries.

Agrizy recognizes the opportunity to export processed products, given the availability of agri-products in bulk. The company is committed to changing this narrative and is working towards exporting more processed products while working with SME processors to make them compliant with global standards of process and quality. The company’s vision for the future includes utilizing unutilised capacity and improving the overall economy of the country. By making these processors global compliant, Agrizy can help processors achieve higher capacity utilization, thus improving the overall economic outlook of India. There is huge scope and bandwidth available in India’s MSME sector which is not utilized due to lack of technology, demand, knowhow and compliances. Agrizy brings with it complete packages to resolve all the above issues and help them scale and compete with big organisations, thus resulting in increased employment, production and business opportunities.
