Navia will commence her recital with Shiva Spanda– a specially researched piece Shiva, which means “that which is auspicious,” refers to the auspicious effect of our contact with the unknown, the nameless, the formless, the great mystery, what is beyond all limitation, time, space and action. Shiva Spanda -intends to look at lord Shiva’s multi-faceted personality, from the mythological to the philosophical, from the form to the formless 

 

She will then present traditional piece – the Varnam – “Swami Ninaae Kori Nanura”

 

Here the nayika considers Lord Bruhadeeshwara as her beloved. She says Oh Lord! I fervently believe you are the only one for me .My very being throbs with the essence of you. Your presence has engulfed me ever since as a child my eyes fell on thee. My senses are tossed about as I marinate in your being. The breeze wafts the scent of camphor which means you are there! In the choreography , we can see how the admiration and devotion in various stages of her growth ripens into love as she becomes an adult 

 

Sadha nevue nanaelu kora – As the shadow is to the Sun,the lightening is to the clouds and the river is to the ocean , I am to you Premameeraga thanjapurivasa I have lost myself in you . You like the cupid shot arrows at me . Arrows of love have smitten my heart , boundaries seem to vanish as my love for you increases. Oh beloved none in the world can match my love for you.
