New Delhi : Author Richa Sahu and entrepreneur Aditi Balbir, batchmates and ISB Alumni of the Class of 2009, have recently released the book Election Fever for children. While Richa has written the story, Aditi has done the illustration work.

Richa Sahu is an ‘explorer’ in many roles of software programmer, strategy consultant, investment banker, entrepreneur, and writer.

Aditi is an entrepreneur, an avid traveler, an angel investor, and an artist. As a successful entrepreneur, she has won several accolades such as CNBC TV 18- Young Business Women Awards, Women Economic Forum, and BW 40 under 40. Apart from running her own business, she finds time to indulge in her passion for art. She loves creating quirky illustrations that infuse life in any narrative.

In the book, the readers will read about Neelakshi, called Nili. Studies in grade 6. The tallest girl in the class, conscious of her name and height. Nothing goes as planned for her; she wants to be known and famous, but it doesn’t work. While Richa’s storyline is meant for the Indian middle school kids who have been relying on foreign authors to read fun books, Aditi’s illustrations bring the characters to life!

Author Richa Sahu spoke about the book: I couldn’t be more excited about this. I hope that children will enjoy and learn as much from the books in this series as “Election Fever” is the first book of the series that chronicles the adventures of Neelakshi aka Nili, often referred to as “Silly Nili” by her classmates due to her penchant for getting into trouble. Collaborating with Aditi for the illustration has been fun, bringing us back to our college days. I am sure kids will love the visuals drawn by her!”

An entrepreneur turned Illustrator, Aditi Balbir, said, “This is my first effort at illustrating, and I’m so happy that it is in a book! Its been immensely gratifying to think up characters as Richa’s storyline took shape, especially in the Indian context. Hoping that the children enjoy it as much as I did while making them up!.”

The book is published by Petals Publishers and priced at Rs. 225 and can be purchased online at amazon.com and amazon.in. The book is out on Kindle edition too!
