  • Blair Walsh has been Given Another NFL Opportunity

    Published on September 2, 2019

Blair Walsh has been given another chance in the NFL. A window of opportunity has opened, and he has been given the chance to sign with the Falcons. They are trying to do everything they can to remedy the kicking woes that they are having and they are also trying to move forward.

The Atlanta Falcons have announced that they have signed Blair Walsh who didn’t play for the whole of last season. Blair Walsh was signed right after their current kicker missed a 39-yard goal against the Redskins. Sure, this was only a preseason game, but it looks like the team are taking things very seriously.

Walsh played his very first season with the Vikings team and he also earnt all-pro honours too. He was the 175th pick overall in the draft and during his time he connected on an all-time best of 35 attempts. He also led the NFL in 2015 with 34 attempts made. His career took a turn for the worst at the end of the 2015 season. He made all three of his kicks in the wildcard game against the Seahawks but devastatingly missed a 27-yard attempt with just 26 seconds left on the clock.

Sport betting sites such as NetBet Casino are being forced to constantly change their odds in an attempt to keep up with the situation, and now it looks like things are changing again. Minnesota were handed a loss and this made it very difficult for them to regain momentum. Walsh then missed 12 of his 16 attempts in 2016 and this caused him to be released by the Vikings. Even then, he wasn’t able to turn things around when he went to Seattle and he also made a career-low of just 72.4%. This caused him numerous problems and it also caused him to lose confidence in his own ability.

Now however, he has been given another chance. Sure, he was once a great player and he had a bad moment, but is there really that much hope? Right now it looks like only time is going to tell but so far it’s a sign that things need to change. Stefan Charles and Thomas Duarte are also going to join the Falcons as they have made a number of changes that they believe are going to make them playoff contenders. Only time will tell if these moves are going to result in any improvements but it’s safe to say that at one point, these were all top-calibre players. Charles was once a member of the San Antonio Commanders and Duarte has just been waived by the Panthers. Duarte was actually drafted by the Dolphins and he was on the practice squad and the main roster during his time there. That’s not all though, because the Falcons have also made moves from their own team. They have waived Tommy Doles, Kahlil Lewis, Shawn Bane with more cuts in the pipeline.

Could this be the start of a brand-new chapter for the Falcons?
