  • Central Bank of India’s “FIRST WOMEN’S BRANCH” in Madhya Pradesh inaugurated

    Central Bank of India’s first Women’s Branch in the State of Madhya Pradesh, situated at Arera Colony, Bhopal, was inaugurated by Shri First Women's BranchM.V. Tanksale, Chairman & Managing Director of the Bank. Addressing a large gathering of customers and citizens on the occasion, Shri Tanksale stated that earlier also the Bank had taken the initiative to establish first ladies’ department in the year 1924 for the benefit of women. He also announced that Bank has launched a new scheme named ‘Cent Kalyani’ for women entrepreneurs. Under this scheme, finance is made available to units owned and controlled by women entrepreneurs having financial interest of 51% of the capital, and giving at least 51% of employment generated in the enterprise to women. Further, the Bank has also set up a ‘Women Entrepreneur Cell’ on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2013 with the objective of providing special facilities to women.

    In another programme, Shri Tanksale also launched Bank’s ‘Urban Financial Inclusion’ drive at Imamigate Branch, Bhopal. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Tanksale stated that under the urban financial inclusion programme, the Imamigate branch of the Bank has opened accounts of general public by holding camps at different places in the city, which is a good initiative. Free ATM cards have been issued by the Bank to such account holders, enabling them to withdraw cash from their accounts through ATM network.

    Coin distribution camps were also organized at both the branches for the benefit of general citizens and customers of the bank, as part of a month long programme drawn up by the Bank for such camps at different centres.
