  • CII-LetsVote ‘Green Rally’ to make wishes come true for 500 under privileged school children

    Hyderabad: – Around 500 bicycle riders from the Corporate World and School Students took out a rally at the picturesque necklace road in Hyderabad early Saturday morning to urge the citizens to care for environment, register for EPIC voter ID as well as pledge to join electoral process each time there is an opportunity to elect their leaders. The rally was organised by CII and LetsVote.

    The Corporate Bicycle rally in the morning was flagged off by Shri. AK Khan, Hyderabad Police Commissioner also took the ride along with the participants who turned out in large numbers.  It was the turn of School Children to ride the bicycles after the corporate rally. This rally was flagged off by Shri. Bhanwar Lal, AP State Chief Electoral Officer.

    The participants Bicycle riders covered around 5  kilometers (Kms) starting from the People Plaza, Parking Lot covering Necklace Road, Sanjeevaia Park and back at the starting point.

    Shri. Shakti Sagar, President CII, Hyderabad Chapters, Sri Bhaskar Reddy, Income Tax Commissioner and Convenor of LetsVote and Sri J A Chowdary Co-Convenor of LetsVote and hundreds of Volunteers both from CII and LetsVote turned out in large numbers to cheer the riders.

    On the sidelines of the flagging off function, The Guest of Honor appreciate the enthusiasm of the citizens and said their involvement in such awareness campaigns would greatly help not only to spread voter awareness but also to spread the message for maintaining clean and healthy environment.

    “We are hopeful that this rally will be able to spread and expand the ‘LetsVote’ message amongst our fellow citizens of twin city and make the people aware about the importance of casting his or her vote and the steps that should be taken to get involved.” said J A Chowdary, Co-Convenor of LetsVote Campaign.

    “Many organizations have an interest in raising awareness of ecological concerns, and eco-friendly promotional ways are a great way to do it. CII is committed to promote going green and continues to extend its whole hearted support to people initiatives by welcoming new ideas for a clean environment.” said Shakti Sagar, Chariman-CII-AP

    It is an opportunity to each one of us to speak our mind and remember to vote in large numbers. Our objective is to take this awareness to every part of twin cities, to motivate people to care for environment and also encourage larger new voter participation. Let us all remember that ‘No Vote No Right’.” Said Bhaskar Reddy, Convenor, LetsVote.

    The organizers plan to hold more such events in future, taking the rally to other cities as well with a mission to raise awareness about the importance of getting registered to vote and ready to vote. The rally was sponsored by ADP, Leepakshi, Y-Brant, AMD, Uni-Ads, Mandava Hotels, Durga Jewellers, enRight, BSA cycles, Grass and many other individual donors.
