Chennai : Cognizant won the finals of the Chennai Corporate Spikes – 2012, an inter-corporate volleyball event held on 18 and 19^th February 2012 in Chennai.

Around 16 teams participated in the event and the final was played between Cognizant and Renault Nissan with Cognizant clinching the title with a direct winning score of 25-16 and 25-12.

The event will be held on an annual basis with expanding to invite more entries from the next edition.

The event was organized by Toss Sports Management, a sports promotion venture to promote sports at grassroots, professional and recreational level.

Speaking on the event, M.Rajalingam, Director, Toss Sports Management said “Chennai Corporate Spikes is an initiative to promote volleyball among a wider audience and we have started a step towards it by targeting corporate people initially. Further, Toss will be organizing volleyball events for school, college and club level; players, in an effort to promote volleyball at both grassroots, professional and recreational level.”
