  • Crossword Bookstores and Puffin Books launch Sudha Murty’s The Upside Down King

    Bengaluru  : Today is Children’s Day, a day when India remembers Nehru chacha and his boundless love for children. Similar is renowned fiction writer Sudha Murty’s devotion as an author towards kids.

    At the launch of her 30th piece of original work The Upside Down King, Sudha Murtyji in conversation with author Vikram Sampath delves into mythology- whether it is rapidly disappearing from amongst the youth and the many ways in which it can be made more interesting for children.

    Murtyji talked about her third book in the series of unusual stories in Indian mythology, where readers discover speaking bears, Ravana’s brother- the God of Wealth, and a man with thousand arms. In her discussion, she brought out the dissimilar personalities of Krishna and Rama, despite being the reincarnations of the same god, Lord Vishnu.

    The conversation was followed by a Question and Answer session with the audience, where fans asked intriguing questions related to Murtyji’s books and her transformation into writing about mythology.

    Murtyji and writer Vikram Sampath officially unveiled The Upside Down King at Crossword Bookstores, Bengaluru in conjunction with Puffin Books imprint of Penguin India. Thereafter, fans gathered around to get their books signed by their favourite author.
