  • D&B hosts the India e-Governance Forum

    Mumbai : In its endeavor to create a platform to bring together stalwarts to share their knowledge and experiences on key issues pertaining to e-Governance, Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), the world’s leading source of global business information, knowledge and insight organized the India e – Governance Forum in Mumbai.

    The event brought together the Government and the Industry under one-roof to discuss the need for latest technologies, products & services and suggest a holistic approach to effectively maximize the adoption of e-Governance in India.

    Speaking at the event, Ms. Preeta Misra, Director – Learning Solution, Dun & Bradstreet India said,  “With almost all states in the country launching e – services in some way or the other, e-governance has emerged as one of the most striking developments in transforming government functions and renovating the way citizens participate in democracy.  Dun & Bradstreet is pleased to be associated with the stalwarts of the industry to discuss the challenges affecting the progress of e-Governance to enable efficient governance & administration.”

    Speaking at the forum, Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary – IT, Government of Maharashtra, said, “As an IT secretary, I am tapping in more than 200 e-Governance projects and when we speak of these projects, Big Data, Data Analytics etc. help us a lot. Our efforts have always been focused to simplify transactions. Platforms such as the Dun & Bradstreet India e-Governance Forum help us in achieving the same.”

    Discussing the role of online payment for UIDAI Scheme, Mr. Sumnesh Joshi, I.T.S, Assistant Director General, Mumbai Region, Unique Identification Authority of India, Planning Commission, Government of India said, “This event is a good platform for all the stake holders related with the e-commerce portal. These people are software solution providers and are keen to work with the Aadhaar platform. So it’s really a good platform to showcase their live applications to their various stakeholder. They can now come up with various new innovative application based on the Aadhaar card.”

    Speaking on adoption of e-Governance, Mr. Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO, BSE Ltd said, “Technology is the only change agent, the societies fall around it. Technology allows everyone to become independent. It allows people and societies to come together. This initiative by Dun & Bradstreet is a really good attempt to bring people from the domain together to understand the need of technology to enable faster delivery of public services.”

    Also present at the seminar were Dr. Bhagwan Sahai, Principal Secretary, General Administration (Services), Government of Maharashtra; Mr. Yogesh Raut, Head – State Project Management e-Panchayat, Department of Panchayat Raj & Rural Development, Government of Maharashtra; and Mr. Ramakrishnan Raghu, Chief Enterprise Architect, Passport Seva Project, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd among other industry veterans.
