  • Essel Infraprojects Ltd. bags three Waste to Energy projects in Andhra Pradesh; Hitachi Zosen India Private Limited awarded the contract for delivery of the projects

    Mumbai : Essel Infraprojects Limited (EIL) an enterprise of Shri Subhash Chandra led Essel Group, has bagged three Waste to Energy (WtE) projects in the cities of Kadapa, Anantpur and T.P Gudem of Andhra Pradesh. EIL has awarded the contract to Hitachi Zosen India Private Limited for delivery of the projects.

    The contract has been executed between Hitachi Zosen India, a group company of Hitachi Zosen Corporation which is known as a leading WTE Plants Engineering major and special purpose companies owned and operated by Essel Infraprojects Ltd.

    Mr. A. Vidyavathsal, President, Environment & Water EPC, Essel Infra said, “We are proud to have bagged these projects which are in keeping with government’s Swachch Bharat campaign. The association with Hitachi Zosen India Private Limited, which is a leader in waste to energy technology, will enable us to deliver state of the art plants”.

    Mr. Hideaki Horiuchi, Managing Director of Hitachi Zosen India Private Limited said, “This project is in line with the Clean India Program initiated by the government of India. We are delighted and proud of the award marking our successful entry into the state of Andhra Pradesh by our trend setting combustion technology.” He also stated “We are very much pleased that Essel Infra has entrusted us with these new projects and honored to add these reference to the list of sustainable solutions we have created.”

    Each of the plants comprises one R-Grate type waste combustor and flue gas treatment systems with a processing capacity of 330 tons per day and a power output of approximately 6000 kW.

    EIL and Hitachi Zosen India Private Limited have earlier worked together in delivering the Waste to Energy plant in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

    It is expected that total capacity of four WTE plants will reach 0.57 million tons per year by 2019.
