The world football body FIFA has banned former Sri Lanka football chief Manilal Fernando for eight years after he was found guilty of breach of Code of Ethics. A statement released by football’s apex body said that FIFA Ethics Committee has decided to ban FIFA Executive Committee member Fernando from taking part in any kind of football-related activity at national and international level for a period of eight years. The decision was taken after hearings during the last two days at FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich.
