  • FreeCharge wins the Effie Awards 2015 for its launch campaign

    New Delhi: FreeCharge India bagged the prestigious Effie 2015 award for its launch advertising campaign: Recharge Nahin FreeCharge.

    Effie awards are one of the most coveted awards in the field of Strategy and Competitiveness. It is recognised and supported by industry leaders in India and abroad alike. Organised by the Confederation of Asian Advertising Agency Associations (CAAAA) and Tenasia Group, the Asia Pacific Effie Awards honours the region’s most outstanding campaigns, which have been brilliantly executed and showed results in meeting challenging strategic objectives. The imminent Jury at Effie Asia Pacific included the likes of Jarek Ziebinski, Chairman and CEO-Leo Burnett Asia Pacific, Chris Thomas, Chairman and CEO, BBDO Asia, Middle East and Africa & Chairman, Proximity worldwide and Ajay Kakar, CMO-Financial services, Aditya Birla group amongst 180 others from the world over.

    FreeCharge won the coveted Effie award in the ‘Other services’ category where its was pitted against some well known brands like the BJP campaign, Bookmyshow and Olx. In total, there were 6 nominations in the category. The campaign was immensely successful for FreeCharge with most business metrics more than doubling post the campaign. Elaborating the reasons why FreeCharge was chosen, Alok Goel, CEO-FreeCharge said, “It gives me immense pride to know that FreeCharge has started 2015 on such a grand note. Winning this prestigious award is a great validation of our unique approach towards establishing FreeCharge as household brand.
