  • Full Circle to regale readers at DSC Jaipur Literature Festival 2013

    Chennai : Full Circle Bookstore, the official book partner for the DSC Jaipur Literature Festival, since 2010 is all set to provide readers a literary feast with the beginning of the DSC Jaipur Literature festival from 24th to 28th Jan 2013. For the first time, readers can pre-order authors books online at http://fullcirclebooks.in/jlf2013/a.

    In the magical span of five days at Diggi Palace, when the DSC Jaipur Festival will come alive with authors, books, conversations, music from across the world, the Full Circle Bookstore, will be a much hunted hotspot for book-readers and authors. Every year the Bookstore is a hub of activity as book lovers and the literati converge from all over the globe to experience the absolute magic of the Jaipur Lit Fest; to hear and meet the authors and buy their books. It is a rare opportunity to be able to get books of these literary luminaries. There are book-signing sessions as well which are very popular.  Preparation for the stock at the Full Circle bookstore starts months in advance with Priyanka Malhotra and her dedicated team at Full Circle, with careful planning on title selection and number of copies.

    In 2012, the venue saw a footfall of 1,22,000 visitors and the bookstore witnessed larger number of visitors than expected. The top selling authors were Amy Chua (for the much debated upon Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother), Ben Okra (of Famished Road fame, and many others), Michael Ondaatje (for The Cat’s Table, on the magical, often forbidden, discoveries of childhood)  Lionel Shriver (famous for her controversial book, We Need to Talk About Kevin), Hannan Al Shayk  (for One Thousand and One Nights, tales gathered across India, Persia and the Arab Empire), Fatima Bhutto and William Dalrymple among others.

    Commenting on participation, Priyanka Malhotra, CEO, Full Circle said-“It has been an honour and a wonderful opportunity for us to be in partnership with the renowned DSC Jaipur Literature festival.     This year the festival has a very exciting and exhaustive range of authors visiting from all over the globe. Some of the much awaited include- Pico Iyer, Mahashweta Devi, Tahar Ben Jelloun, Aminata Forna,  Akash Kapur, Gurcharan Das, Catherine Weinberger, Jeet Thayil, Musharraf Ali Farooqi, Shauna Singh Baldwin, Diana Eck, Yiyun Li, Zoe Heller among many others.
