    GTA V is approaching its 8th year and still competes with popular newer titles. Developers of and fans of the game keep on finding new ways to keep the game fresh with different modifications or “mods” as they are popularly known in the gaming world. As a result, as of December 2020, GTA V has registered 10B viewers on Twitch in its entire lifespan, making it the 6th most-watched game ever on the Platform.

    A testament to the strength and longevity of GTA’s popularity is its resurgence on Twitch to start 2021. In November 2020, GTA V logged its lowest number of combined hours watched in a month for the year at just 51.6M. By March 2021 that number had steadily increased all the way to 184.4M in March 2021 – an increase of almost 260%.

    Rex Pascual, Esports Editor at Safe Betting Sites, commented;

    “GTA V benefited from the lockdowns of 2020 giving it an injection of engagement that likely prolonged its lifespan for another couple of years. With GTA VI still, nothing more than a rumour, expect one of gaming’s storied franchises to remain at the top of streaming and gaming charts.”
