  • I have to maintain the dignity of the office of the Prime Minister, says PM

    New Delhi : Amid the BJP stalling the parliament business demanding Prime Minister’s resignation on the issue of coal block allocation, Dr. Manmohan Singh on Friday ruled out any possibility of quitting the top post.

    Interaction with media persons onboard his special plane while returning to New Delhi from Tehran after attending the 16th NAM summit, Dr. Singh said that he cann’t get into the war of words with political leaders.

    He said he has to maintain the dignity of the office of the Prime Minister.

    Asked about why was he allowing the BJP to set political agenda, the Prime Minister said as it is better to be silent.

    Dr. Singh also criticized the BJP for disrupting the proceeding in Parliament.

    The Prime Minister said that he has offered Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to join the Union Cabinet on a number of occasions.

    Dr. Manmohan Singh said that there must be a genuine feeling that Pakistan is doing all that it could do to deal with terrorism directed against India from its soil.

    He further added that the trial of those charged with heinous crime of Mumbai massacre is a crucial test for Pakistan.
