  • Death toll in Kerala LPG tanker explosion rises to 11

    In Kerala the death toll in the LPG tanker explosion near Chala in Kannur district has gone up to eleven. Eight people are still in various hospitals in a critical situation. The accident took place on Tuesday causing injuries to about 40 people. Fifeteen houses and about thirty five shops were burnt in the area. A number of vehicles also were gutted in the accident.

    Since the residents of the area were rushed out of the houses immediately after the explosion, major casualties were averted.

    Kerala Chief Minister Mr.Oommen Chandy and other ministers will visit the spot today for the second time and will have discussion with the district officials and doctors. The Chief Minister will also visit the houses of the deceased.
