Mumbai : The Taj Group has reason to celebrate once again, as 5 of its iconic hotels have featured on the prestigious Travel + LeisureUSA World’s Best Awards List 2014 – a list that recognizes luxury hotels across the globe for their exceptional standards and impeccable hospitality.

Reaffirming its position as a firm favourite both internationally and in India, the magnificent Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur was ranked 10th on the list of Top 100 World’s Best Hotels, while it stood a proud 2nd on the list of Top Resorts in Asia with an overall score of 95.75. City hotels that made it to this coveted list included the Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, the Group’s iconic flagship hotel that has played host to to some of the world’s most distinguished statesmen and dignitaries. Not only did it feature on the list of Top 100 World’s Best Hotels(with a score of 93.05) but it also ranked 8th on the list of Top City Hotels in Asia, withthe distinguishedTaj Palace Hotel, New Delhinot far behind.

On the international front, The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, New York, with its legendary heritage and unbridled view of Central Park  ranked 5th on the list of Top Large City Hotels in Continental USA with a score of 92.53.

Travel + Leisure USA conducts an annual survey through its magazine and website soreaders can vote for their favourite hotels. A questionnaire, developed in association with ROI Research Inc., is made available to readers on the magazine website. Respondents are asked to rate the hotels on five characteristics that include rooms/facilities, location, service, restaurants/food, and value.To protect the integrity of the data, respondents are screened and responses from any identified travel-industry professionals are eliminated from the final tally.
