  • ING Life kicks-off ‘Vote for Greener City’ campaign around World Environment Day

    On the eve of the World Environment Day, ING Life India flagged off a unique national campaign for citizens in Mumbai, encouraging them to cast their vote for a greener city. The campaign, called ‘Think Green: Plan & Plant’ has been designed by ING Life India, where over 100 of its employees from the Mumbai branch will reach out to several households, starting on the World Environment Day. They will appeal to the citizens of Mumbai to cast their vote for a greener city. Employees will also be distributing saplings to participating citizens, encouraging them to plant it in their homes, thereby creating awareness about the protection of Environment. Over 600 citizens in Mumbai are expected to be reached out in this 3-day long exercise.

    The World Environment Day, celebrated across the globe on the first Sunday of June, has gained significance over the years. It encourages citizens to be more conscious towards the environment and contribute towards its protection and betterment.

    Flagging off the campaign, Mr. Uco vegter, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, ING Life India said, ‘We believe that corporate India has an active role to play towards contributing to the environment. While we follow the best practices within the company, it is also our responsibility to contribute towards creating awareness amongst citizens. Through this national campaign, we are encouraging citizens to vote for a better environment. We have flagged off this campaign across 210 cities, and hope to have a very encouraging response.’

    More than ING Life 3000 employees across the 210 cities are expected to participate in the campaign. The company received enthusiastic response from citizens across the country, and hopes to contribute towards sensitizing citizens towards environmental issues. The campaign will culminate on 8th June.

    Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rajeev Kanal, Region Vice President, ING Life India said, ‘Our employees are quite enthusiastic to participate in this campaign. We believe it is for a deserving cause, and will add significance to our work. We look forward to meet the citizens and spread the message about environment protection. In many ways, it also connects with our business, where we protect our customer’s financial risks through offering life insurance solutions.’

    ING Life India is in its 10th year of operations. It has established a strong captive distribution network, including its tied agency force and bancassurance. It has a presence panning 210 cities across the country, with over 35,000 tied agents and a strong Bancassurance partner, ING Vysya Bank.
