IPL: Kings XI Punjab beat Chennai Super Kings by six wkts

In IPL cricket, Kings Eleven Punjab beat Chennai Super Kings by six wickets in their last league match at Mohali today.

Put into bat, Chennai Super Kings scored 170 for 5. Kings Eleven overhauled the target, scoring 173 for four with 12 balls to spare.

Perched atop points table, Chennai have already booked their berth in the playoffs with 18 points from 14 matches. Punjab placed sixth in the points table, are out of playoff race.

In the second encounter, the last league match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders is underway in Mumbai.

Put into bat, Kolkata Knight Riders were 105 for four in 16 overs when reports last came in.

Mumbai Indians have already qualified for the playoffs. Today’s match is, however, crucial for Kolkata because they still have a chance to qualify for the playoffs.

The qualifiers in the IPL tournament start next week with the first qualifier slated for Tuesday.
