The food processing division of Jain Irrigation Systems has bagged the Golden Trophy for being the country’s top exporter in the years 2011-12 and 2012-13 from Agriculture and Processed Food Development Authority, Government of India. This is the third consecutive year that the Company has won the Golden Trophy for the highest processed food exports from the country.
Jain Irrigation is the largest onion and vegetable processor in the country and the second largest in the world with three manufacturing units – two in India and one in the USA. It is also India’s largest processor of fruits and the world’s No.1 mango processor, with three manufacturing facilities in India.
Jain Irrigation has a unique business model with a complete Agri Value Chain that adds value to the farmers produce for export and local markets. The Company works with more than 10,000 small and marginal farmers to grow special varieties of onion, bananas, mangoes and other fruit and vegetable crops for processing by providing high yielding planting material, technical support and irrigation systems, and buys back the produce at a minimum assured price or market price whichever is higher.
Jain Irrigation supplies processed fruits and vegetables under the brand name ‘FarmFresh’ to world renowned companies like Coca Cola, Nestles, Premier Foods, Unilever, Almarai, etc.
Jain’s food processing business has grown at a CAGR of 15% in the last 5 years and is targeted to grow to Rs.900 crores this year, with exports pegged at Rs.600 crores.
