  • JW Marriott Chandigarh observes Earth Hour

    New Delhi: JW Marriott Chandigarh will join millions around the world for Earth Hour movement to send a powerful message brighter future of the planet. Located in the heart of Chandigarh, JW Marriott Chandigarh will turn off non essential lights from 8:30 pm – 9:30 pm, March 31, 2012. This initiative will create awareness among the people and make our planet a better place to live. The hotel will support Earth Hour 2012 by dimming the lights in the restaurants as well. JW Marriott requests all to be part of this event and turn off lights in your rooms.

    Mr. Ulhas Madkaikar, Engineering head says, “The hotel will encourage our guests to join in on the movement, turning their room lights off during this hour. It’s a symbolic action to show we all care about protecting the environment and reducing our impact on it.”

    In lieu to this activity, JW Marriott Chandigarh is also hosting a glass painting competition on 31st March, 4:00 pm at the associate Cafe R3 at the Hotel, where all the employees of the hotel will be participating to honor the Spirit to Serve acitvity towards the welfare of the environment.

    WWF’s Earth Hour is a simple idea that’s become a global phenomenon, spanning a record 135 countries in 2011. Earth Hour is a global grassroots movement encouraging individuals, businesses and governments around the world to take positive actions for the environment, and celebrating their commitment to the planet by switching off their lights for one designated hour.
