  • Lord’s Test: England in commanding position against India

    England are in a commanding position on day four of the first Cricket test against India at Lord’s. With a comfortable lead, the hosts England declare 269 for 6. India need 458 to win. Ishant Sharma led India’s fight back by taking 3 wickets in the space of 16 balls and later claimed the 4th wicket. He accounted for Kevin Pietersen for 1, Ian Bell without any score, Jonathan Trott for 22 and Eoin Morgan for 19. Praveen Kumar was the first to strike when he claimed Alstair Cook for 1. Harbhajan Singh trapped Captain Andrew Strauss leg before wicket for 32. Zaheer Khan who left the field in England’s first innings with a hamstring strain is still off the field while Sachin Tendulkar was absent with a virus infection.
