The government will start Direct Benefits Transfer, DBT scheme for LPG subsidies from 15th of next month in 20 identified districts in the country. Replying to listeners’ questions in AIR’s Public Speak programme last night, Advisor to the Planning Commission, Nidhi Khare said that the scheme will gradually be extended to other districts with increase in Aadhaar number. Speaking about the DBT scheme, Mrs. Khare said that under the scheme targeted beneficiaries will be provided direct cash transfer in their Aadhaar seeded bank accounts.
