New Delhi: Paytm, India’s largest mobile commerce platform, has tied up with IRCTC to offer the Paytm Wallet as a payment option on online train ticket booking. Providing a hassle-free way to do transactions on the online portal of Indian Railways, Paytm is going extra miles to assist patrons in booking their tickets through its wallet with unmatched ease and convenience.

Mr. Amit Lakhotia, VP-Paytm said, “We are delighted to partner with IRCTC and offer the added convenience of Paytm Wallet to IRCTC customers. This is a major partnership for us as it allows users to book train tickets via Paytm wallet. IRCTC is the second biggest consumer-transacting platform today. Launched recently, the service has received positive response from our customers, with the usage of Paytm wallet on IRCTC’s website crossing our expectations in just a few days. We are elated with this association and we wish to take more such worthwhile strides in the future to make lives simpler and easier for our customers.”

Paytm leads from the consumer wallet segment, thanks to its 60 million wallet holders. These users can shop and pay with Paytm wallet across 21,000 merchants now.  Integrating with platforms like IRCTC would help it expand its reach in tier-II and tier-III markets.
