Fashion designing as an industry is full of glitz and glamour on the outside. But from the inside, it is like any other industry full of big players, small players, educators, academicians and the ones trying to get in. Bringing them all together and creating an organisation in itself is no mean task. So to create an organisation where not only all of these segments come together and collaborate is a massive achievement and that is exactly what the World Designing Forum(WDF) has done.

The World Designing Forum was founded by Ankush Anami in 2017. Born out of an idea of creating a space for designers and educators to collaborate, educate, hold meaningful discussions and at the same time be recognised for their work and contributions the World Designing Forum is a unique space in the Indian fashion industry.

Ankush Anami, hailing from Lucknow, is an alumni of the prestigious National Institute of Fashion Technology. After working in the industry for years and creating a vast network of designers and educators, Ankush sought to use his experience and network for the betterment of the industry and its people. Thus, the WDF was born.

Ankush leveraged his talent for designing, his experience, management skills and his connections in the industry to create a space for all designers new and old to come together and help each other grow. Ever the activist for designing education, Ankush attends various designing events as a speaker and advocates the importance of designing education. He also mentors various young designers and guides them on the path to achieve their dreams.

The WDF not only creates a space where people from the fashion industry and related verticals can collaborate, it also promotes meaningful and impactful discussions on issues like sustainability, social change, healthcare, global development and how designing can play a role in creating a better world. In addition, the forum also promotes an inclusive and collaborative approach to designing.

This approach is best exemplified by the workshops held by the WDF. These online workshops are open to all designers, irrespective of their level of experience or expertise. The workshops are held by prominent members of the fashion community, be it designers, models, educators, etc. These workshops also provide certificates upon completion and leave the participants with incalculable knowledge and a new perspective on their work.

The flagship event of the forum however, is the National Designing Awards. These awards bring together the entire industry to celebrate the most iconic designs, the best designers and all the hard work that goes in around the year into making the industry so successful. The event also provides a platform to promote innovation and networking among peers.

A one of its kind organisation, The World Designing Forum is truly transforming the fashion designing space for all those involved. With an eye towards the future and honouring the past, the World Designing Forum is shaping the present of the industry to create a better world, one design at a time.
