State owned company National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has paid an interim dividend of around Rs 2,886 crore for the current fiscal.

According to an official release, CMD of the NTPC Arup Roy presented the dividend cheque to the Power Minister Mr. Sushilkumar Shinde in New Delhi.

It is the highest ever interim dividend paid by this company. Interim dividend is a payment made before a company’s final financial statements.
