“National unity is key to any political solution which accommodates the

aspirations and ambitions of all spectrums of the Bahraini community.” His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, emphasized  yesterday “We will continue building our nation with the participation of everybody and strengthen our national commitment to attaining the goals announced by His Majesty King Hamad since the launch of his permanently ongoing reforms project,” he said. This came as he received US Assistant Secretary of State and Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labour head Michael Posner, in the presence of Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.

HRH the Crown Prince expressed confidence that Bahrainis, in view of their legacy, long history, aspirations for a promising future of equality and democracy as well as their spirit of citizenship, are capable of achieving all these, with their understanding, consensus and responsible participation.

Still there are reports of individual attacks here and there but it is each ones responsibility to take care of unwanted interferences. It is reported that the British citizen who was attacked and lost two of his fingers had been sleeping in his car when he was attacked, sources have confirmed. Two men have been arrested for assaulting 53-year-old Peter Morrissey, who is still receiving treatment at Salmaniya Medical Complex. Sources said one of the suspects, who lives in the village, allegedly confessed to the crime and led authorities to the weapon. Sources said a masked man opened the car door and tried to grab his wallet and attacked him with the sword when he resisted.

AN event, organised by the National Unity Assembly’s (NUA) Al Fateh Women Group, was held outside the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) headquarters in Manama yesterday.  HUNDREDS of Bahraini women demonstrated   to condemn foreign interference in the country’s affairs. They also demanded not to be sidelined in the reform process, saying they are an important factor in the country’s development.
