New Delhi : The runners from Pune sparkled at the Pune Flo Half Marathon 2018 presented by Bridgestone India. The run was successfully concluded at Magarpatta City Pune on Sunday October 28^th, 2018, under the partnership with FICCI FLO Pune. The marathon was organized with a prime motive to promote woman empowerment.  Over 10,000 marathoners took to the roads in Pune to make this event a successful one in the presence of honorable Chief Guest Hon. First Lady of Maharashtra Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis.

 

Speaking on the successful Event, Mr. Parag Satpute, Managing Director and Bridgestone India said “We are glad for the extraordinary response of the citizens of Pune. The Event started with spreading the awareness on status of woman in the society as the core communication and focused on encouraging the financial independence of women and encouraging them with employment opportunities. The runners displayed great deal of endurance and fortitude amid smoggy weather conditions.

 

Other dignitaries at the event included Ms. Pinky Reddy, National Flo President, and Chief Secretary of Maharashtra, Army Commander GOC –IN Chief Lt. Gen SK Saini. The event saw them coming together for exchanging views and opinions on the cause and helped spread the message.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Sangeeta Lalwani, Chairperson FICCI FLO Pune said “Our motto is power to empower and idea was to bring the importance of women back in the society and raise as much as possible funds from the Marathon to help projects & initiatives of Skilling and Swayam.
