    Published on August 7, 2014

New Delhi : The sixth edition of BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2014 at DLF Emporio, New Delhi on day 2 will see a mesmerizing collection from Raghavendra Rathore that celebrates the spiritual manifestation of a melange of traditions, ushering in a new era of clothes embodying history, a rebellion of colors splashing modernism on to the austere canvas of the ramp and where jewellery becomes the new tattoo for men.

This year the Rathore brand brings out another relic from their ancestral wardrobes –  the classic fluid Dhoti finds itself as the forerunner of the collection. The tailored classical Rathore Raghavendra Rathore 2014Bandhgala and the Bandhgala Achcan are paired as a compliment to the flowing Dhoti in alchemy of silhouettes and combinations.

The quintessential Rathore Bandhgala embroidered beautifully and paired with silk dhotis draped in styles from across the country, adds a dramatic flair to the whole ensemble. Another look that the designer will be showcasing is the dhoti with a long waistcoat and kurta. The Rathore brand is known for its details and the dhoti will be no stranger to this with niceties such as intricate embroidery on the hem, beautiful geometric hand-woven designs.

The silhouettes represented in this collection have signature Rathore elements, from chic, controlled styling, to fine, exquisite embroideries. The mélange of kantha, zardozi and bugle bead embroidery with accents of sequin, crystals and stones gives the collection a feeling of modern vintage. Gold thread and pearl embroidery details on womenswear ensembles like bandhgalas coupled with evening wear jodhpur pants exquisitely embellished and variated with dreamy organza and lehanga skirts reinvent the look of the modern day bride. The colour palette is a play of vibrant colors tastefully combined with each ensemble – from ivories to fuschia tones that move into richer and deeper jewel tones.

Raghavendra Rathore says, “I am proud to bring out these relics from our ancestral wardrobes and make them fashionable, wearable and most importantly part of the modern Indian society”

Raghavendra Rathore will be showcasing his collection on 8th August, 2014, 9:30 pm at the BMW India Bridal Fashion Week being held at DLF Emporio, Delhi.
