    Published on June 21, 2011

On the first day of the Jamaica cricket test, Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh shared a classy 146 runs for the 7th wicket helping the visitors India to amass a respectable 246 against the West Indies in the first innings at Sabina Park. India, who chose to bat, got off to a nervy start as they lost their 6 wickets for just 85 runs. Rahul Dravid provided the only resistance up the order while the rest tumbled in front of the typically fierce West Indian bowling. But it was Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh who came to the rescue, steadying the Indian innings. Suresh Raina scored 82 while Harbhajan Singh made 70. For the West Indies, Fidel Edwards bagged 4 wickets with Ravi Rampaul and Devendra Bishoo taking 3 wickets each. At stumps, West Indies were 34 for 1. Adrian Barath and Ramnaresh Sarwan were at the crease.
