Kerala were 110 for six in its first innings on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy match against Andhra, being played at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.

For the host team, Sachin Baby who scored 36 was the only player who put up some resemblance of resistance against the Andhra attack spearheaded by Atchuti Rao and Shankar Rao.

Atchuti Rao took three wickets giving away 31 runs, while Shankar Rao took two for 10. Sivakumar gave away 24 runs to claim one wicket.
