New York, NY – Devon Levesque, a renowned fitness expert, entrepreneur and Partner of Performix House, will be the first person to embark on the historic feat of “bear crawling” 26.2 miles. This November he will be taking on the incredible endeavor across the streets of New York City to raise funds for FitOps Foundation, a nonprofit organization which holds month-long “live on” camps to train and certify veterans to become elite personal trainers.
“This will be my biggest fitness challenge to date,” said Devon Levesque. “I was inspired to bring awareness to mental health and suicide prevention. A big driving force is my father who committed suicide when I was 16. Mental health is just as important as physical health. When I started to learn more about FitOps from Matt Hesse and how they help veterans mentally and physically, I made a point to get to the next camp. After hearing stories directly from these heroic individuals and how they survived the war but are struggling when back home, I put them at the top of my list for 2020 to try and help change that. The goal is to raise as much money as possible to sponsor veterans to put them through FitOps camps and help them find purpose again through fitness”
Over one year of training will prepare Devon for the race. Through a team of doctors and coaches at Performix House, a 20 hour per week program has been created that balances training and recovery. To train, Devon is bear crawling four times a week, adding on distance each week. His extensive recovery routine includes a regime of T3 Active CBD cream, cold therapy, infrared sauna therapy, sports massage and constant mobility work.
Expected to be completed in under 24 hours, the funds Devon raises will go towards expanding FitOps Foundations’ training programs and camps where veterans are educated, trained and counseled, and will help meet their goal of assisting many more veterans.
