Meridian, Idaho – For the fourth year in a row, Scentsy has been ranked No. 15 on the Idaho Private 100’s list of Idaho’s top 100 privately held companies.

Scentsy has only been around for 14 years, but this relatively young company has already established itself as an international leader in the world of home fragrance.

“When we started this business, we were running it out of an old 40-foot shipping container on a Meridian sheep farm,” said Heidi Thompson, Scentsy’s President.  “Orville (Heidi’s husband and Scentsy’s CEO) would create the recipes for our fragranced wax in a Crock-pot and then the kids and I would package and label each bar to get ready to ship.”

Scentsy’s decorative warmers are designed to melt fragrant wax using a light bulb instead of a wick and flame; this flagship product line quickly attracted a faithful following, and the business boomed.

“We knew the products were perfect for direct selling,” said Heidi. “Scentsy products have to be experienced, and a party is the perfect way to share Scentsy.”

Currently, approximately 120,000 independent sales Consultants share Scentsy in eleven countries.

And the Thompsons’ days at the slow cooker? They’re long past — the company now produces more than 30 million Scentsy Bars each year.

Scentsy has expand well beyond warmers and wax, offering diffusers, natural oils, portable fragrance products, a laundry and cleaning line, children’s products, a personal care line and a Disney Collection—all designed to “fill your life with fragrance.”  Many of the items are made on-site on Scentsy’s beautifully landscaped 73-acre campus, just a few miles away from that old sheep farm.

This marks the ninth year in a row Scentsy has made the Idaho Private 100 list, which recognizes private enterprise and honors privately held Idaho-based companies that generate the greatest annual revenue.
