With the season in the top 10 stage and the competition heating up – to celebrate the delectable food – Star World hosted a very special and a unique MasterChef Australia inspired event in Mumbai.

Star World partnered with Food Talk India, one of India’s largest digital food influencer to host The Blind Folded Mystery Meal at one of the most premium restaurants in the country, Olive Bar & Kitchen in Bandra. Hosted by celebrated Chef Sujan S., the blind tasting event comprised of a fabulous 4 course menu, taking the diners on a mysterious journey with a sensory dining experience, where in the darkness of a blindfold, the senses of touch, taste, sound and smell were amplified- giving the guests of the evening a whole new perspective towards food.

The evening was a tremendous success which saw the crème de la crème of Mumbai step out to enjoy the one of a kind MasterChef Australia experience. The fantastic menu along with the blind tasting experience brought alive one of the most exciting and much loved challenges from the show, the Mystery Box challenge.

Speaking on this unique experience, an official Star India spokesperson said, “MasterChef Australia has been one of the most important properties on Star World and currently in its seventh season, has emerged as the most popular and loved culinary show on Indian television. The Blind Folded Mystery Meal for us is an attempt to add a different perspective towards food in India. Experiences like these are extremely unique and we are very happy with the kind of response we have seen this evening. We hope to continue creating many more such enjoyable experiences for our guests and viewers in the future as well.”

Says Anjali Batra, Co-Founder of Food Talk India, “Over the years MasterChef Australia has changed the way we look at food. Our palette has evolved as we get exposure to all these wonderful ingredients, cooking techniques and chefs with every passing season. Tonight we took inspiration from one of the favourite MasterChef challenges- The Mystery Box to create an exciting new gastronomic experience for our diners.

A four-course meal served Blind Folded- the level of excitement that filled the room when we revealed each dish was nothing short of that in the MasterChef kitchen when the Mystery Box is revealed. It’s like they were competing against their own palette trying to decipher the ingredients of their dish”
