  • Swarovski Launches Its Exclusive ‘India Collection’

    Published on May 12, 2015

It is India’s time to shine at Swarovski, which is delighted to announce the launch of its exclusive India bloodCollection. The finest crystals of the world get an Indian makeover this season with earrings, bracelets and necklaces designed by Nathalie Colin, Creative Director, Swarovski.

Created specifically for the Indian market, the collection is inspired by our rich heritage of art and design and even elements found in nature special to our culture. Peacock feathers, paisley, filigree and the lotus flower – motifs traditionally used as patterns on textile, embroidery and wall murals in India find their way into this exclusive jewellery collection.

With sixty unique styles, the collection is a perfect fit for modern Indian women who like to add an Indian touch to their ensembles – be it a sari, denims or a dress. The designs are about ethnic inspiration presented with a contemporary twist and can be comfortably styled with work wear, evening wear and casual looks. The richness of Indian fine jewellery techniques, merged with a distinctive 3-dimensional treatment using the sparkle of the crystal, further enhance the motifs.

“Combining tradition and expert craftsmanship with modern design is very dear to Swarovski. I loved injecting our distinctive touch of sparkle and Swarovski’s recognisable aesthetic onto heavily ornate and intricate latticework. Bringing this modern twist is a creative and fashionable way to bring the richness of the past into the future,” says Nathalie Colin, Creative Director and Swarovski, CGB.

Rich and vibrant colours of Swarovski crystals – emerald, Siam, rose and Montana blended with delicate shades of golden shadow and vintage rose add opulence to the designs. Created with stones in a variety of shapes such as pear, oval and chestnut with cushion cuts, the India Collection is easy to wear with multiple looks. Surface ornamentation such as Milgraine with Indian influences like Rawa work reflects Indian design heritage. The mango motif or paisley is revised with modern design detailing and surrounded by crystal pave elements.

“The heavily ornate and intricate Lattice work or popularly known as Indian Filigree has been revisited with a modern twist. The delicate detail elements such as Milgraine on the motifs enhance the look of heritage while the sleek polished feminine curves redefine the contemporary style of Swarovski design language” says Nathalie Colin.

Available at all Swarovski stores nationwide, the price range is from Rs 3,000 to Rs 17,000.
