  • Gurgaon : Less than two months after the launch of  Rammohan Sundaram’s PlatformPlay, has partnered with TechCrunch to bring a series of  two-day conferences to India in the year ahead.

The TechCrunch conference series in India will be a three-city event, starting with Bangalore in November of 2013, followed by Mumbai in April 2014 and culminating in New Delhi that August.

Like pending conferences held in the  Rome, Beijing and Moscow, TechCrunch’s events in India will include notable tech, investor and entrepreneurship speakers, a startup pitch competition and a startup exhibition floor. There will be space for sponsors to display their goods and services.

“A TechCrunch event provides the global platform that the Indian tech ecosystem needs to enable our startups to flourish and to fuel the growth that we need to become a major player on the international stage” said Rammohan Sundaram, Chairman and Managing Director of PlatformPlay. “Given that venture capitalists invested close to $1.2 Billion USD in the Indian marketplace last year alone, it’s clear the tech community is eager to find the next big thing in and from India.”

“Everyone knows about India’s wealth of tech and entrepreneurial talent, and we are eager to bring our TechCrunch events platform to India to help everyone move forward,” added Ned Desmond, Chief Operating Officer of TechCrunch. “We believe that hosting this conference series in India is an important step to deepen the connections amongst the global tech community.”

TechCrunch is a leading technology media property, dedicated to obsessively profiling startups, reviewing new Internet products and breaking tech news. The TechCrunch community includes more than two million friends and followers on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google and other social media. CrunchBase, TechCrunch’s open database about start-up companies, people and investors, has become the leading statistical resource for technology companies and transactions.
