The Battlegrounds - May, 2015 Operation Food SearchSt. Louis, Mo. : The Battlegrounds, St. Louis’ only permanent mud run and obstacle course, recently held its sixth bi-annual race and collected 1,027 pounds of food for Operation Food Search.  The donation represents enough food to feed 257 people for one day.

The canned food was sent to Agape Ministry of Warren County, which feeds approximately 1,000 Warren County residents each month at its food pantries located in Warrenton and Wright City.

“Our runners are a group of good-hearted individuals who came from 26 different states,” said The Battlegrounds’ owner Carl Bolm.  “They are truly vested in helping others, whether it’s in their community or ours.  We are so proud of their efforts and the beneficial effects it will have.”

Operation Food Search was established in 1981 to address the growing problem of hunger in the St. Louis area. As the largest distributor of free food in the bi-state area, the organization distributes more than three million pounds of food and household essentials to nearly 250 community partner agencies, which in turn feed 190,000 poor people each month, nearly one-third of whom are children.  For every dollar donated by individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations, OFS provides $21 worth of food and nutrition services to support the hungry.  For more information, visit www.OperationFoodSearch.org.
