  • Pune – Bank of Maharashtra Head office Pune had organized a small but gracious prize distribution function for the competitions PR_Photoheld during Rajbhasha Month on 23.09.2014.  Shri S. Muhnot, Chairman & Managing Director, Bank of Maharashtra while addressing the gathering said that the use of Indian languages is the key to success in banking because most of the urban & rural population is not knowing English thus we can serve General Public better through our own languages.

    Speaking on the occasion, Principal Chief General Manager and Principal, College of Agricultural Banking, RBI, Pune Mrs. Meena Hemachandra Chief Guest of the program said that we should use easy Hindi which can be understood even by non Hindi people. She further said that use of Hindi should be increased in Technology. She quoted the example of Google Talk. She pointed out that Banker serve the common man therefore Banking is a Noble profession.

    Executive Directors of BOM Shri R Athmaram & Shri R K Gupta while addressing the employees said that Bankers are traders & therefore they have to speak & do their daily work in Indian languages only. Hindi is very useful language. Success of Pradhan Mantri- Jan-Dhan Yojana, Financial Inclusion & other social schemes are depend on Indian languages, beneficiaries of these schemes only know their local language or Hindi.

    During the programme All India Trophies for the better use of Hindi, prizes for Hindi competitions held during Rajbhasha Month were distributed simultaneously employees who have completed 25 years of glorious service were also felicitated.

    The program was held under the guidance of General Manager Shri  Narendra Kabra & Chief Manager Rajbhasha, Shri Harshkant Sharma has  compared the programme.
