Chennai : His Excellency Mr. Mike Nithavrianakis, Deputy High Commissioner of U.K. to India flagged off the first shipment of coated ceramic products manufactured by RN Photo Coatings to U.K.  RN Photo Coatings is located in Sri City.

His Excellency Mr. Mike Nithavrianakis, Deputy High Commissioner of U.K. to India received the first ceramic mug from Mr. Anil Kumar Bamba, Development Commissioner, Sri City SEZ in the presence of Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City, Mr. Varun Tripuraneni, Director, RN Photo Coatings and Mr. Alex Turner, Director, RN Photo Coatings, U.K.

The first phase of the manufacturing plant at Sri City has been set up and additional capacity is being added currently. At full capacity, the facility will manufacture over 25 million mugs per annum and employ over 200 people.

His Excellency Mr. Mike Nithavrianakis, Deputy High Commissioner of U.K. to India said, “I am happy to flag off the first shipment of ceramic products to the UK from Sri City. I have been to Sri City earlier this year. It is a very impressive site and is in the way of realizing its ambitious growth and expansion plans. There are already three UK firms based in Sri City with others in the pipeline and we would like to see more of them.

Mr. Anil Kumar Bamba, Development Commissioner, Sri City SEZ, said, “I would like to take this opportunity to express my special thanks to His Excellency Mr. Mike Nithavrianakis, Deputy High Commissioner of U.K. to India for his valuable time. Sri City currently has over 80 companies from 23 countries and provides direct and indirect employment to about 10000 people and the estimated employment potential (direct and indirect) in the next three years will be around 70,000. This is one of the most successful SEZ’s in the country.”

Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City said, “It is an honour to have His Excellency Mr. Mike Nithavrianakis, British Deputy High Commissioner to India and Mr. Anil Kumar Bamba, DC, Sri City SEZ with us. His Excellency’s keenness to know more about Sri City is very encouraging. We are also pleased to have UK based companies such as Andrew Industries, manufacturers of Industrial products and Bergen Pipes, manufacturers of pipes support equipment for power plants apart from RN Photo Coatings.  Andrew and Bergen are expected to commence their operations in Sri City shortly.”

“It is a list of First’s today for Sri City. RN Photo Coating is the first UK based company in Sri City to commence production, this is the first shipment to the UK from Sri City and for the first time, the Deputy High Commissioner of U.K. to India is flagging off the first shipment,” he added.

“RN Photo Coatings is a joint venture between AT Promotions Ltd (ATP) and Tams India to manufacture coated ceramic products and other items for the rapidly growing market for dye sublimation printed photo gifts,” said Mr. Varun Tripuraneni, Director, RN Photo Coatings.

“ATP has secured exclusive access to the proprietary and uniquely dishwasher proof Duraglaze coating, the only glaze material for the important dye sublimation printing technology that can truly claim to be 100% dishwasher proof,” he added.

“With our worldwide distributors in place in the European Union and USA, India will be our next key market. Initial research indicates that the Indian market is currently being predominantly served by Chinese manufacturers. We will be able to offer companies a better quality of product locally – shortening lead-times, reducing their stock holding requirements and saving them money,” he concluded.
