  • Unwell Dhoni misses match-eve practice

    Published on November 21, 2011

An unwell Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Tuesday skipped the team’s practice session ahead of Tuesday’s third and final Test against the West Indies . But the Skipper is expected to play in the inconsequential match at Mumbai. The hosts have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead.

Senior team-mate VVS Laxman told reporters at the mandatory match-eve media conference at the Wankhede Stadium that Dhoni told the physiotherapist that he is unwell and that’s the reason he did not come for the practice.

Team sources told PTI that Dhoni did not need medical attention for his illness and should be able to play on Tuesday.

Incidentally, the Indian squad does not have a second regular wicketkeeper though there is Rahul Dravid who has kept wickets in the past in ODIs.
