In ICC Cricket World Cup today, New Zealand and the West Indies recorded easy victories in their respective matches. At the Sardar Patel Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, the Kiwis thrashed Zimbabwe by 10 wickets with more than 16 overs to spare in Group ‘A’ game.
Chasing a modest target of 162, New Zealand scored the required runs 33.3 overs without losing a wicket. Earlier, batting first, Zimbabwe were all out for 161 in 46.2 overs.
In the Group ‘B’ fixture at Mirpur, the West Indies beat co-hosts Bangladesh by nine wickets. Chasing a paltry target of 59 runs, the West Indies achieved victory in 12.2 overs. Earlier, Bangladesh were all out for just 58 in 18.5 overs. It was the fourth lowest total in World Cup history.
